-is the inside track on side A of the SWAP 12" on mas supposed to sound like its skipping or did i get a bad copy? -for more idm content, i'm quite pleased with the new american idm cdr label thing going on right now, its all very enjoyable stuff, and proves that america is good for somethign besides britney spears, who proves another point that guys really dont care fake or real. %^ quick rundown pitchcadet(very AE/funkstorungy/occasionally afx) underscrore(phuqed up video game music) omco(very IDMesque, signaldrift=seefeel circa polyfusia, quique) kracfive(more AE/funkstorungy/afx but often times going out on interesting tangents) *flame them if you want, but to me originality isnt the most important thing in music, sometimes its just the sheer music -like someone was trying to get at in an earlier post, think of the music your listening to in context of itself, not in context of other music/people/or the artist themself, if you sit around listening to funkstorung and think of autechre then of course your gonna turn into "wells", maybe all these new "AE clones" are just sean and rob under different guises(well maybe thats pushing it, but you get the idea), to stop b4 i angry to many im just sick of the worthless and valueless flames and disses that go out on the list, and to try and come back to original subject, support these CDR labels, these are the next warp/skam/rephlex. -dj.merck(i'm just here to start arguments)

here's an interesting britney spears et al bit of trainspotting: max martin writes songs for britney spears. max martin writes songs for the backstreet boys. max martin writes songs for Robyn. Max Martin writes songs for N'Sync. The Backstreet Boys actually went to Sweden to do their new album with Martin (he's swedish), so it's quite the little pop hit machine with Ace Of Bass, etc. And Shania (pop? nu country? just what is that music called? ;)) Twain's husband, Robert John Mutt Lange (ever notice how much Def Lep's Pour Some Sugar On Me sounds like a Shania Twain song? well, it's done by the same RJML), has just done 3 songs on the new Def Leppard album (they realized they couldn't sell the grunge of their last album, so they're back to the slickness of pyromania etc) *and* the same Robert John Mutt Lange has written and produced some of the songs on the new Backstreet Boys album! So, it's quite fascinating, to me at least, that so much of the Top 40 can be traced to such a small group of people. That Def Leppard and Backstreet Boys tracks can be written and produced by the same person who does Shain Twain. Think about that for a second and you'll wonder: is Puff Daddy raking in all the dough? how about Max Martin and Robert John Mutt Lange? Dianne Warren, the ballad writer, too! Dianne Warren, because she's the songwriter, makes most of the money whenever an aerosmith ballad goes #1, leanne rimes, etc, etc. not at all IDM related, but hey, i didn't bring up ms. spears ;) andrew duke :) "dj.merck" wrote:
